After leaving Lisbon, we will drive you to Évora taking the countryside roads of Alentejo, for a beautiful sightseeing tour. Upon arrival, you will have enough time to take a walk through its historical center and “sense” that mystical atmosphere. You will visit the famous Roman Temple and its Cathedral from the 12th century. Your tour guide will be pleased to also show you the inside of Évora’s University, founded in the 16th century, where despite of having the chance to admire its unique architectural aspects, you will also get a feeling of the true environment of the Portuguese student youth.
After having lunch in Évora, the journey will follow to Monsaraz, an extremely well preserved medieval walled town overlooking the largest European artificial dam – Alqueva. The sights are breathtaking and on the way lies S. Pedro do Corval, a town devoted to Alentejo colorful and traditional pottery.
You may also go to a local winery to taste the superior quality of the Alentejo wine and beheld a magnificent view and atmosphere.
